Mother, don't pester me to look at stars
for I was there amidst their light once
so close as you are to me on this skyward stairs,
built with golden dreams to reach their presence.
I flew once at night when world was asleep
with wings weightless pampered by winds wild,
into the sky that was deep as my mind
and rested my heavy head on star's warm lap.
Now, I came down where boundaries exist,
like a stunted deer caged in a golden maze.
I can't gaze at stars for they seem distant
nor can I smile here for this is a mere mirage.
I flew once
And I can't rest now.
Brick by brick.
I build this stairs.
